Super-Insulated Vacuum Systems

The design of our super-insulated vacuum systems for liquefied cryogenic gases.

Super-Insulated Vacuum Systems

FROM DESIGN TO DEVELOPMENT: SUPER-INSULATED VACUUM SYSTEMS

I.D.E.A. Gas Systems designs, builds and installs super-insulated vacuum lines for the distribution of liquefied gas. It also produces all the components to complete the system: vacuum valves (manual and pneumatic), phase separators, flexible hoses, cooling lines, discharge lines, and control panels for automated systems.

Production technologies

All the lines are made of stainless steel with low carbon content and can be either rigid or flexible. Both types can be integrated in a line and their compatibility allows for greater reliability and efficiency.
The modules are made in the workshop and then installed on site to form the line. All our modules are tested with helium leak detectors. Helium leak detectors are devices which, by pumping helium, are able to detect any leaks between welds. We monitor the entire production process at all times, in order to make any corrections as quickly as possible.
The modules that make up the line are put together with TIG welding or bayonet connections at the place of installation.

Advantages

The advantages of a super-insulated system

  • Minimum thermal dispersion
  • No maintenance (hermetic vacuum)
  • Reduced consumption
  • Unlimited duration
  • Low assembly costs
  • Joints and trajectories of all kinds, including particularly sinuous ones

Specifications

Technical specifications

  • Internal and external tubes the purity, characteristics and diameter of which are specific to the product and use
  • Pipe cladding and cold components with special multilayer insulating material
  • Stainless steel axial contraction compensators, in special configuration for intensive use at low temperatures (operating temperature -196 °C to +60 °C)
  • Vacuum connection. This also acts as a relief valve in case of overpressure in relation to the atmospheric pressure value of the empty jacket, for example when an internal component breaks
  • Degree of vacuum created in the cavity 10-5 mBar
  • The absence of condensation on the vacuum modules is guaranteed only under the following environmental conditions: R.H. ≤ 70% 15 °C ≤ ambient T 25 °C
